One man died and another was injured after they were struck by a G train in Brooklyn.
It happened after 12 a.m. at the Fort Hamilton Parkway station in Windsor Terrace.
Officials say two MTA workers were preparing for overnight track work when they were both struck by a passing G train. They say the men were not run over by the train, but instead pinned to the walls inside the tunnel.
Louis Gray, a 53-year-old father of two, died at a hospital. The other worker, 49-year-old Jeffrey Fleming, suffered injuries to his ribs and is recovering at a hospital.
The MTA is investigating the incident.
Transport Workers Union President John Samuelson says the incident highlights the extreme danger transit workers face every day on the tracks.
The union says 12 transit workers since 2001 have been killed on the job.
