Route 15 southbound in Stratford reopened after a serious multi-car crash shut down the highway for several hours Sunday morning.
State police said the crash happened around 4:48 a.m. near Exit 34 and involved several vehicles, bringing a heavy emergency response to the scene.
Officials said there were life-threatening injuries reported in the crash.

The shutdown led to major traffic delays while crews and investigators worked at the scene for hours.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation closed Route 15 southbound between exits 36 and 34 due to the crash and a vehicle fire.
The highway has since reopened to traffic.
