Former New York Giants running back Peyton Hillis is in critical condition after saving his children from drowning in Florida, according to multiple reports.
Fox 24's Alyssa Orange reported that Hillis was taken to a hospital by helicopter and brought to the intensive care unit.
An update from a family member on Facebook says he is "having some problems with his kidneys and his lungs" but doctors say he is improving.
Hillis played for the Giants in 2013-2014.
His children are reportedly doing well.
