Murals honoring late actor Chadwick Boseman coming to Canarsie, East Flatbush
A new mural of Chadwick Boseman is being painted in East Flatbush in remembrance of the actor who inspired millions with his iconic roles.
The 10-foot-tall mural is stretched across the wall of Family Altagracia' restaurant.
Artist Kenny Altidor says Boseman is a hero to so many.
"When you think of hero, superhero, usually we think of Superman, Batman, Spiderman, but Mr. Chadwick Boseman, he's a true hero. He embodied that role," he says.
Boseman, who was known for playing so many roles, especially Marvel's "Black Panther," lost his battle with cancer last month.
Altidor says with the help of the community he's making sure the actor is remembered.
The daughter of Family Altagracia's' owner says after weighing their options of people to have painted on the wall, she says she chose Boseman before he passed away because she says he's such an influence in the Black community.
And after his passing away, she says the mural just made so much sense.
Altidor says he's planning to have the mural finished later this week, and then he's planning to paint another mural of the actor in Canarsie.
He says he's also hoping to get the cast of the "Black Panther" movie to come out for an unveiling.
