Apple has proposed adding 13 new accessibility-themed emojis to the growing collection of mobile graphics.
Creating new emojis is no easy task, however. The proposed characters have to
pass a test by the Unicode Consortium.
The group checks that the emoji is compatible with apps like Snapchat and Twitter.
Other things taken into consideration include how frequently the emoji will be used and if it represents something new or different.
The new emojis include a prosthetic limb, a person in a wheelchair and a service dog.
If approved, the emojis would be rolled out next year.
