Two weeks after a five-alarm fire tore through a row of stores on Marion Avenue, residents and businesses are slowly cleaning up and picking up the pieces.
The fire destroyed seven businesses, including some neighborhood mainstays like a barbershop and laundromat.
And the Marion Pharmacy saw its stocked medications and prescriptions turn to ash.
"It's like a nightmare," said the pharmacy's Paula Valdez, who was struggling to hold back tears. "It was like my second house."
The pharmacy has set up a temporary location across the street where it has emergency supplies from its second location on East 184th Street.
