A new affordable housing lottery opened up in the Bronx on Wednesday at the McClellan Apartments in Concourse Village.
Organizers say 200 units are now up for grabs at 1160 River Ave. in Concourse Village. The building contains amenities like a rec room, outdoor deck, laundry room and an on-site superintendent.
“This will allow families who are vulnerable, families who are working class the ability to live and grow in the Bronx,” said Ahmed Tigani, of the New York City Housing Preservation and Development agency. “This is an example of developers using city resources and building in a part of the Bronx… families and people can come together and spend time in a beautiful, fantastic new building.”
Eligible income for the units starts at $18,000 and caps at around $175,000. Forty-five studios are available starting at $465 per month. Ninety-three one-bedroom units are available starting at $591 per month, 36 two-bedroom units are available starting at $700 per month, and 24 three-bedroom units are available starting at $800 per month.
