A Bronx elementary school is deploying a new program to help promote social and emotional learning.

Brain Power Wellness is a mindfulness and wellness program used in schools to promote social-emotional learning, focus, team-building, and more.

Dave Beal, the CEO of Brain Power, says he was a former elementary school teacher in Brooklyn and as he became overwhelmed with the job as an educator, mindfulness became his outlet and he then shared that with his students.

The program now works with 600 schools all over the country. Faculty at P.S. 340 in the Bronx say they've adopted the brain power culture.

Jayra Sanchez, a teacher at P.S. 340, says within her eight years of teaching she's seen a noticeable difference.

"Engagement is at an all-time high, productivity as well, and their emotional intelligence has really developed," Sanchez said.

Faculty at P.S. 340 and Brain Power say this program will make a difference for future generations.
