New Yorkers now have a new location to buy legal recreational marijuana in the city, as a new cannabis dispensary opened its doors in lower Manhattan on Wednesday.
The Union Square location is the newest legal recreational dispensary to open, and owner Keshawn Warner welcomed his father to make the business’ first sale.
The dispensary called Dazed is the eighth legal marijuana dispensary in the state and the fifth to open its doors in New York City.
“It provides an opportunity for me to show the people in my neighborhood your start doesn’t dictate your ending,” said Warner. “I’m here to show there is space for everyone.”
As cannabis advocates and appreciators gear up to celebrate April 20, a celebratory day for those who partake, state officials say the current cannabis industry continues to grow and serve those New Yorkers who have been unfairly criminalized by antiquated drug laws.
