A new roundabout in Longwood is aimed at making it safer to cross Arsenio Rodriguez Way.
For years, residents have been pushing to have something done about the dangerous intersection at Intervale Avenue and Dawson Street.
People say cars used to speed down the road and people had to run across a street that is twice the size of a standard one. The Department of Transportation says that the new crosswalk and completed roundabout should improve safety.
"There's always cars speeding when they turn from 163 and it's not safe," says resident Jennifer Flores. "It's going to be good because now the pedestrians are safer."
