There is new training on the way for mandated reporters across New York City's public schools.
This comes as both local and state officials say they're looking to reduce implicit biases when it comes to reporting suspected child abuse.
The goal of the training is to stop child services from getting involved in cases that are not abuse.
"We were very intentional in designing this new training to give our mandated reporters a deep understanding of how to confront and address that implicit bias and self-reflect on the way that those views may affect their decision-making," said NYC Schools Chancellor David Banks.
