This is the 21st consecutive year that the hospital has been ranked as the best in the state.
It is also one of the top in the United States, listed as No. 7 in the nation, with five of its specialties - cardiology and heart surgery, neurology/neurosurgery, psychiatry, diabetes/endocrinology, and rheumatology - all being ranked as top five in the country.
"We are honored to be recognized as the best hospital in New York for more than 20 years, and as one of the best hospitals in the nation," said Dr. Steven J. Corwin, president and CEO of New York-Presbyterian. "We are deeply grateful to our amazing team of health care heroes, whose extraordinary dedication to our patients and their families makes this achievement possible.
New York-Presbyterian shares its achievements with its affiliated medical schools, the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and Weill Cornell Medicine.
The hospital is one of only 20 U.S. hospitals to be named to the 2021-22 honor roll, for which U.S. News evaluated more than 4,750 medical centers nationwide. It also ranks among the best in the nation for children's care in the U.S. News Best Children's Hospital rankings.
