The New York Road
Runners honored Barbara Klasewitz by inducting her into the New York Road Runners’ 2022 Volunteer Hall of Fame.
The 64-year-old has
been a NYRR Open Run volunteer for six years, helping at about 250 runs.
She credits the
program with helping her improve her quality of life, including losing nearly
100 pounds.
She called the induction “an honor” and
said she would continue to volunteer as long as she can.
Since 2015, NYRR Open
Run has been bringing free, weekly community-led runs and walks to neighborhood
parks across all five boroughs.
