Norwalk Police have met with a towing company after an incident over the weekend was caught on video.

Fedor Auto Body is accusing police of going too far by forcibly removing a car it towed.

In the video, a town police officer uses bolt cutters to forcibly remove a towed car from the business.

The car's owner drives away without paying anything.

The officer accuses the towing company of price gouging in the video, charging the car's owners an extra $150. That's on top of the $88 base fee, but the business says the car was towed legally and the car owner paid none of it.

State DMV regulations allow for extra frees in specific circumstances, which the tow company says it met.

Norwalk Police Chief Tom Kulhawik issued a statement Wednesday saying, "We had a very cordial meeting and we were able to agree on and resolve most issues. However, each of us are researching additional information as we work through a couple issues that need clarifying."

According to Fedor’s owner, he's reviewing their extra fees with the state DMV.

He says the customer has also agreed to pay the towing bill, although they're still negotiating the exact amount.
