People are gearing up to begin their Memorial Day weekend a little early this year.
An additional 1 million drivers will be on the road this year compared to last, according to AAA.
“It’s generally a lot of traffic, normally I don’t drive but if I drive I think it’s gonna be a very busy day," said Ahmed.
AAA reports that New York City is among the metro areas that can expect the heaviest traffic.
If you want to beat the traffic, the best time to head out is Thursday before 12 p.m. If you are unable to begin your holiday weekend early, you should leave Saturday before noon.
The worst time to travel will be Monday between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
