New Yorkers dealt with high temperatures and a heat advisory Thursday with some serious wet weather forecast for Friday.
People at WNYC Transmitter Park were seen in the shade and others near the water basking in the sun's rays. Despite the high heat, many say they just wanted to enjoy the day any way they could. Children were also seen enjoying the playground and spray shower that’s nearby.
However, Thursday’s hot and hazy weather is expected to be followed by a tropical storm Friday.
The system is expected to slowly track over the tri-state area on Friday. It will likely dump heavy, soaking rain most of the day. Up to 4 inches of rain is possible.
The storm is expected to begin early Friday morning and continue throughout the evening, moving out late Friday. Weekend weather will be hot, humid with the chance for scattered showers.
