New York City officials say they are expanding the city's green spaces to make it easier for cyclists to get around.
Thanks to a $7.25 million grant from the federal government, five new greenway corridors will be built for a total of 40 miles of new protected bike paths and open pedestrian spaces for recreational activities.
Officials say the initiative is meant to safely connect New Yorkers to other neighborhoods.
Citi Bike is also expanding in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.
