NYCHA residents say they're afraid of piles of trash left outside could freeze and become dangerous.
Residents tell News 12 the garbage is creating unsanitary conditions for them and even created a rat problem.
They say piles of garbage, on both sides of the sidewalk, are supposed to be picked up.
News 12 reached out to the Department of Sanitation, which says that it collects trash that's dumped in large metal containers and even serviced the community five times in the last week.
NYCHA has not responded to News 12's request for comment.
