New York City will officially begin its $14 million initiative to make New York City streets and parks cleaner.
Off of the Cross Bronx Expressway, a lot of trash can be seen, but that may change soon as the city officially begins its Get Stuff Clean initiative.
The idea is a joint effort between Mayor Eric Adam's office, the Department of Sanitations and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The initiative plans to target more than a thousand “no man's lands” around the city that have been neglected and trash ridden over the years.
The Department of Sanitations is set to hire 200 new sanitation workers as well.
The city will also be adding more litter basket services, increasing cameras to enforce against illegal dumping and bringing on more rat exterminators.
