Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with a violent rape in the Bronx.

Police say 34-year-old Jason Dickerson is now charged with attempted murder and rape. Dickerson is accused of putting a 27-year-old woman in a chokehold until she lost consciousness and then raping her on March 11.

The incident happened in a building near Davidson Avenue and West 190 Street.

The victim suffered lacerations to her nose and mouth and was transported for treatment.
