FDNY: 1 person injured at massive Melrose fire
8h agoA 39-year-old Bronx man has been arrested and faces a slew of charges in connection to a violent sexual assault Wednesday in Melrose.
Kashaan Parks was charged with first-degree rape, assault, strangulation, sex abuse, public lewdness and harassment.
Surveillance video obtained by News 12 shows the suspect follow the victim before sneaking behind her and using a belt to take her down.
Video later shows that man drag her by the neck between two cars. That's where police say he sexually assaulted her.
The incident occurred near East 152nd Street and Third Avenue in Melrose.
According to the NYPD, the victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln by private means in stable condition.
The NYPD says Parks has five prior arrests, including domestic assault in 2018 and turnstile jumping in 2013.
