Police are asking for the public’s help to find the person who they said robbed a Morris Park couple of their jewelry and cellphone worth $147,000.
It happened just before 10 p.m. on March 12 near Delancey Place and Muliner Avenue.
The 37-year-old male victim told News 12 it started as a night of celebration because he recently learned his 39-year-old wife is five months pregnant with their first baby girl.
He said the couple went to a nearby restaurant to get food, but when they returned home, a man walked up behind them and pulled a gun on them.
The victim declined to go on camera or be identified, but he gave News 12 surveillance video.
One video shows the couple walking up the front steps of their home, when a car pulled up.
The gunman got out of the backseat and followed them into the building.
Another video showed the three people standing at the bottom of the staircase, as the couple is forced to hand over their jewelry and cellphone.
The thief put one hand on the man’s neck and the gun to his back.
According to the timestamp on the video, the incident took less than one minute.
The victim said the thief took off with four necklaces - including a Cuban chain - two bracelets, earrings and a diamond ring.
He said the Cuban chain also has sentimental value because it belonged to his late father.
Police said no injuries were reported.
The victim said he is offering a $20,000 reward.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
