NYPD: Man allegedly responsible for vandalizing Bronx GOP office arrested

The NYPD says it happened on Aug. 9 after 6 a.m., when 48-year-old Louis Monroig allegedly walked by the building on Williamsbridge Road, grabbing the metal trash can and throwing it before fleeing the scene.

The NYPD says they have arrested and charged the man allegedly responsible for vandalizing the Bronx Republican Party Headquarters Office. 
The office has since been repaired, and police told News 12 that the suspect took a trash can and threw in into the window, shattering the glass completely.  
Republican City Council candidate Kristy Marmorato shared photos of the destruction with News 12. The NYPD says it happened on Aug. 9 after 6 a.m., when 48-year-old Louis Monroig allegedly walked by the building on Williamsbridge Road, grabbing the metal trash can and throwing it before fleeing the scene.  
The vandalism was caught on video, and police say that a security guard in Westchester Square identified Monroig through the video, which they say led to his arrest.  
The office was closed at the time of the incident and there were no injuries.
