A man is in critical condition after being bashed in the head with a bat in Manhattan, according to the NYPD.

Police say early Thursday morning, the victim was inside the 7th Avenue subway station when he was approached by two people who began hitting him on the head with a baseball bat multiple times.

It's unclear what led up to the incident. The suspects are still on the loose.
