A probationary NYPD officer died during training, according to the city Police Benevolent Association.
Officials say Kamir Loubarria, of Queens, collapsed during training at the police academy on Monday.
The NYPD says that Loubarria was committed to a life of service and to keeping New York City safe.
“His fellow police officers will continue to stand by his family to support them in any way we can,” the NYC PBA wrote in an Instagram post.
The cause of death has not yet been released.
