Police say they are searching for a suspect in an assault that happened at the Sutter Avenue and East 98th train station Sunday. 

Police say a 60-year-old victim was approached by a female who later spit in her face and hit her multiple times with an umbrella. 

They say the victim got off the train at the Park Place Station and that the suspect remained on the train. 

 The victim was treated at New York-Presbyterian Hospital for pain in her left hand and knee, according to police. 

Anyone with information is asked to call the police.
