NYPD stats show overall crime up almost 6% for October compared to last year

The NYPD has released their latest crime statistics, with overall crime up almost 6% citywide this October compared to October of 2021. 
Transit crimes and hate crimes have both seen significant increases, with transit crime up almost 30% last month. 
October crimes dropped a staggering 66.7% compared to the October of 2021 for the Bronx, despite increases in murders during that monthlong span.
Looking beyond the past month, the Bronx is seeing a 25% increase in crime to date when compared to 2021.
