NYPD: Subway rider stabbed in stomach; police search for attacker

Police say the passenger was on a southbound 4 train as it pulled into the 167th Street Station around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday.

A 31-year-old subway rider is recovering after being stabbed in the stomach, according to police.

Police say the passenger was on a southbound 4 train as it pulled into the 167th Street Station around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The NYPD say the suspect sat down next to the victim and initiated a verbal dispute. The department says the suspect then pulled out a sharp object, stabbed the victim in the stomach and ran off.

Police say the suspect was last seen wearing a tan T-shirt, black pants and black shoes. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-800-577-TIPS.
