NYPD: Woman shot in the shoulder overnight in Soundview

Police say a woman was hospitalized following an overnight shooting in Soundview.
According to the NYPD, the shooting took place just before 2 a.m. at the intersection of East 172nd Street and Commonwealth Avenue.
When police arrived at the scene, they say they found the victim and a white Toyota Corolla parked on the street. The car’s back window was completely shattered with multiple bullet holes. One of those bullets struck the female victim in the shoulder.
It's unclear whether that woman was driving the car or was a passenger. The victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and is being treated for her injuries.
Police say they still haven’t made any arrests in this case.
