Beachgoers at Orchard Beach say they want to see improvements along the waterfront, and elected officials are starting to agree.
Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. recently set aside $10 million for upgrades to the pavilion in the hope that it will attract interest from public and private investors to get the project going.
And last week, Mayor Bill de Blasio called for city officials to make room for beach improvements in next year's capital plan.
But residents say they want to see basic things restored, too, like getting the bathhouses up and running again.
