Officials say multiple businesses were damaged overnight following a five-alarm fire in Flatbush.
Fire officials say they got a call around 2:30 a.m. for a fire on the first floor of a two-story commercial building at 1919 Church Ave.
The say it took firefighters almost three hours to get the flames under control as the situation grew to a five-alarm fire.
The FDNY says they were only dealing with the outside of the building at first, but then fire spread through three stores inside, including an electronics and clothing store.
Officials say four firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling the flames.
The inside of the stores on the ground level appeared to be very damaged, along with the floors above them.
A person with the city’s Department of Buildings posted vacate notices on the building for all three units where the fire was.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
