Torrington officials say a recount of the 65th House District race finds Republican Joe Canino has beaten longtime Democratic state Rep. Michelle Cook.

They say before the recount in Torrington, Canino led incumbent Cook by about 600 votes.

Registrars ordered all absentee ballots and early votes to be counted again after tabulator problems at one of the main polling locations. That recount upheld Canino's victory.
