Take it, you know, today, I'm calling it for a good ish day now because you're not going to be seeing the wet weather and notice our silver lining here, 60 degrees. That's nice and very warm, big departure for December 2nd. And uh we are noticing the trend also heading into the pre dawn hours into tomorrow. Now by tomorrow afternoon, you'll definitely need those umbrellas, a lighter jacket alert for sure. Today, what to wear looks like that um, umbrella for tomorrow's soggy on and off showers all day and heading into dinner time. That's when things really start to improve. But a seasonal return once again, specifically Wednesday into Thursday, as we walk you through our future cast, the clouds are here and they will continue to stay with us thickening and also gradually building to more shower activity heading into overnight at first light, but then we have these rounds of rain. So, you know, not everyone gets to see them and experience them all at once, but their heavier pockets also embedded as early as eight and seven o'clock in the morning. You'll notice Brooklyn, you kinda see that, especially when we're talking about heading towards the afternoon time frame. So after 12 o'clock, that's when we can start to notice a bit more of those moderate heavier pockets, the contours of the deeper um, greens, as well as oranges and yellows. We're gonna need those umbrellas handy all day tomorrow. So be mindful of that accessory by four o'clock, things really lighten up and the showers seem like they kind of exit. But, you know, we are left with the clouds still at bay. So it's kind of a bit more of a damp start heading into Monday. Nice, beautiful clearing and the sunshine is back into play as we start off the next week. Now, as far as rain total, it looks like this. So three quarters of an inch close to an inch for some spots, very localized. I'm not very concerned about localized flooding. Uh but because it seems to be such kind of like nuisance rain, it's just gonna be a rainy day and that's something to just be mindful about. By Tuesday, Wednesday, we get back into the forties and as we start off Hanukkah on Thursday, we are expecting drier conditions and high temperatures into the forties. Much more like December.

Well, it's time for a check at your forecast with meteorologist Scott Skoff. Scott. What can you tell us? Well, Amanda, we are looking at some wet weather for our Sunday tomorrow. Gonna be seeing those showers build in the morning will be heaviest from late morning until the early to mid afternoon. That's when we can expect the heaviest rains if you have any errands to do, do it later in the afternoon, evening before stores close or first thing in the morning as well because the rain won't be as bad then no real chance of flooding. But there will be plenty of that notorious fog. That fog will be with us as we go into the day tomorrow. So overnight temperatures going to be in the upper thirties and torrents and forties elsewhere, cloudy skies with that rain building in as we go overnight, gonna be seeing that rain coming in from our south and west. All this moisture is because of the stalled system over towards the Great Lakes in Appalachia. We are be seeing this move on and give us all that rain heavy into the afternoon tomorrow. So what are we looking at up to a half inch of rain. So, not too much and no real chance of flooding, but we still could see some ponding on the roadway, especially route 795. The merit and 84 as well. We'll be keeping our eye on this as we go into the day tomorrow, moist foggy cloudy as we go later on tonight. Not too bad, but showers will start to build on. And then by 89 clock and see more rain chances heavier from lunchtime into the afternoon. By 34 o'clock, things are going to start to taper off with a few lingering showers. Sunday night into your Monday morning. Still some areas of fog forties across the board tomorrow near 50 though, down in Greenwich, showers on and off, but mainly going to be seeing that breezier weather as we go into the next couple of days after the rain 50 on Monday, 44 Tuesday, 41 on Wednesday, 38 C be on Thursday.

So many winters without snow. So what's behind this, what's been behind it is mainly just been two things really our weather patterns and just the shift in any of these storm systems that they've been shifting just a bit more to the south or east or to the north and east, which has been the trend for the last couple of years has been bringing in rain because of the warm sector of these storm systems instead of giving us any kind of snow. So unfortunately, we just kind of drew the short stick, but this year, we are hoping for a little bit better Tama, but at least for right now that's not going to be happening for us. We are looking outside at a gorgeous sunset over in Tarrytown and that is going to be leading to a system of rain. That's right. We're still not gonna be dealing with any kind of snow forest just yet, but we are going to start to see a rain once again by the time we get into our Sunday. So taking a look outside as of right now for our radar, things are gonna be dry but cloudy across the board, even fog is going to develop overnight. So the next 12 hours just be mindful. It's gonna be cloudy but dry and rather mild for this time of year, temperature steady into the upper forties. And we are gonna be seeing that rain developing rather late mainly overnight from our Saturday into our Sunday morning. So make sure you have your umbrella and rain gear ready to go. And if you just wanna stay indoors and watch movies, it's gonna be a great day to do that as well, especially if you haven't put up any of your holiday decorations just yet. Sunday morning, Sunday afternoon, we're expecting rain showers could potentially see some brief heavy spouts and then we have a brief little break in our rain as well early into our Sunday afternoon, but it's still gonna be on and off showers throughout much of our Sunday heading into our Sunday nights before clearing. By the time we get to our Monday morning, a half to three quarters of an inch of rainfall is what we're expecting across the board, especially towards Yonkers and White Plains inching closer to that three quarters of rainfall. But for the days ahead, the rain is mainly gonna be Sunday and then we're looking for a dry trend and on top of it, a chilly trend heading into next week. Quick look at our 10 day forecast. Monday looks to be one of the warmer spots and then forties and even upper thirties for Hanukkah.

It's gonna cool down again in the 10 day. Let's talk about the bigger issue, which is going to be the rain tomorrow. So we do have cloudy skies all weekend, obviously a fog out there this morning too. So that's creating some visibility issues. But on Sunday, it is a steady rain for a good chunk of the day. So today is the pick out of the weekend. There'll be some peaks of sunshine this afternoon around lunch, but not much of it. Temperatures are in the mid ff maybe even upper fifties if we get enough sunshine, but I would not count on the sun. It's gonna be a possibility that we, you got a few breaks in the clouds, but most of the day is pretty cloudy. This is 5 p.m. the sun is already set and temperatures are still in the fifties. So you don't need the heavy winter jacket. Just a light jacket. Today will do dinner time is mainly dry, but after 89 o'clock, there could be some spritzes and stray showers. It's a all day full LG wash out on Sunday, light rain in the morning, check this out. Temperatures are in the fifties in the morning, that's above average for the afternoon at this point in the year. But we don't warm up on Sunday. It's gonna stay 50 all day with this very persistent, very steady and very damp rain that just sticks around until I'd say about six o'clock or so. So, if you have any brunch lunch, early dinner plans Sunday, I just don't see a lot of opportunity for dry time for you here. So we're gonna keep that in mind. Temperatures are not bad all the way through Monday. We're hanging out in the fifties. Today's high of 56 is the warmest that we've actually seen since mid November morning. Lows are in the forties, so no worries about frost. No worries about cold when you're stepping out the door. Tuesday morning, we're back down to 36. So that's kind of setting the stage for a cooler upcoming work week, 46 there, 43 on Wednesday and 42 on Thursday. It's not the coldest set we've seen, but it is definitely pretty chilly for that first night of Hanukkah. Expected to definitely feel like it is December, but we rebound a little bit next weekend with another chance for some rain. Just a little heads up on that. But the work week does look dry. Not that we want to talk about the work week on a Saturday, but that's how it's shaping up

And speaking of a snow drought, we turn now to meteorologist Scott Sinko Scott, you know, when we can expect to see some snow here, I'm thinking it's mainly going to be towards January, February March. That's when we normally see in this El Nino weather pattern that we're currently in. So technically, we're seeing warmer weather weather for the first half of the winter and that's what we're seeing, especially for the day. Tomorrow, rain is moving on and starting in the early morning, the showers will build if you do have to do anything early, do it later in the afternoon evening. It's probably the best time with the less chance of rain, but still dealing with clouds and fog and those wet roads. So just take it slow for a dark dreary Sunday across the region, but today wasn't much better. At least starting out. Look at this over in Sussex County by Mountain Creek. Just crazy dense fog, visibility. Literally, you couldn't see anything in front of your face. And that is going to be the case as we go into tomorrow with the rain and the fog, we've just been dealing with this over the past several days as more moisture is coming on and from our south and west clouds are going to continue to build even though we saw a little bit of sunshine earlier, more rain though, pushing in towards the early morning. So let's break things down. We are going to see up to a half inch to one inch of rain throughout our Sunday. So no real chance of flood because it's going to be going slower and steadier into the afternoon. We are looking at those clouds continuing with the mild air forties overnight, with those showers beginning after midnight. Then as we go to it's 56 in the morning, things gonna get a little heavier down in South Jersey and then widespread across the state from 10 a.m. till about three o'clock in the afternoon. That's when things are going to start to taper off. Still a lingering shower or two are in the cards, but definitely be on the lookout as we had Sunday night into Monday as we are going to see clouds and fog linger. So overnight tonight, forties, mild conditions as those showers build can be a little cloudy. Could see definitely areas of fog, especially by the Jersey shore, all of those bay areas of water too. Sunday, fifties out there in Fellows and Jersey City 54 in Cream Ridge. Rainy day. More of that drier air though coming in towards the late afternoon, that's the best time to do anything outdoors. Then on Monday, we're looking at windy conditions. 52 on Monday, mostly cloudy skies. Then those temperatures take a dip. On Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. We are looking at the slight chance for some isolated showers, sprinkles or flakes, but we're keeping our eye on that in your hyper local forecast.

This 89 year old is taking flight all across the world for a cause near and dear to the hearts of many of us and hold on tight because we are hopping over to long island where the largest bounce house in the world is bringing joy To all big and small plus find out what this group out of Connecticut are digging up 25 years after they actually buried it today, good news does exist and you've come to the right place to find it. It's time for on a positive note. Hello again, I'm your host, Jordan Kasane. And if you're looking for your daily dose of feel good, you've come to the right place to find it here. On a positive note, we highlight the most heartwarming stories from all around our tri state that move and inspire us. Okay, well Do you want to make a bet? I bet that you won't be able to watch this first story out of New Jersey without smiling the whole time. You've heard about the famous book around the world in 80 days, right, well this one is more like around the world at 86 years old. Check it out. You know, if I have a problem on the ground. Once I'm up there to look down and I see how small everything is. I realize how small a guy I really am and the things that I get excited about, it's not worth getting excited over an 86 year old Ed Galkin describes the transcendent feeling he gets flying the Cessna 2 10 centurion he bought back in 1976. It's much less expensive than going to a psychiatrist. That's for sure. It's a feeling he'll be experiencing a lot in the next few months. As he and his 65 year old co captains V. Moshiri fly this little plane around the world. Ed Galvin's wife of 62 years bobby who also has her pilot's license, was among those at a send off party a few days ago. It's making him very happy and that's okay. My job is to worry and his job is to go around the world and have a ball from Canada to europe. And then from Sardinia we go down to the Middle East, United Arab, Emirates across southeast Asia, the pacific islands and the longest leg a 15 hour flight from american Samoa to Hawaii before heading back to the U. S. Mainland and no, there's no bathroom in that plane. So I've been to, I've been to a lot of romantic places like good things, right? This is his fourth trip around the world. It's an effort to raise money for the Alzheimer's association. His brother Sam passed away in 2017 after a battle with the disease. 6.5. How many people his age and he's an inspiration to senior citizens and I'd like to add future senior citizens to that list, Galkin trying to fight the disease that took his brother's life while reminding those of us on the ground to never stop living art and that one definitely reminds us that life is too short to be boring. Did you ever have a teacher who had the class write a letter to their future selves and then send them to each of you a year later? Well I did and I can't tell you how special it was to read what I had written to myself during my last year of high school. Well, this next story out of Connecticut takes that same sentiment to an extreme. After a group of middle school students dug up their class time capsule 25 years into the future. Sometimes it takes more than one dig to get to your goal and the journey to find this 25 year old time capsule started on June four and with a few more digs and days later finally, it resurfaced in this new era. Three months later at Dolan Middle School Mr Rinaldi is 1997 7th grade social studies class is back together with new generations in tow, checking out their old stomping grounds until they're tucked away memories came back to life. Look at you just like relive all these moments where a lot of us met for the first time and are still lifeline friends, 13 years old to now, 38 year olds. The bond of these former classmates are still intact. The most important thing, of course, is just the connections that they have with one another and they're having, they're going down memory lane from reading future advice they gave to themselves in letters. They think you shouldn't waste your time in class. So flipping through yearbooks and scrapbooks and traveling back in time with their Mementos. It's just like the shocks. It's easy to get lost in time when so much of it has gone by. We could have never anticipated all of the changes to society. All the changes with technology. But what remains are the relationships that they built when they were in school and you know what that means? It's time for today's. Did you know? Well whether it's ketchup, alfredo sauce, soy sauce or otherwise. I think we can all agree that sauce makes any meal better. We'll get this according to experts at food fire friends. Pasta sauce was the most google searched for sauce in all of Connecticut. The experts say. They analyzed google search data related to the word. Yeah, you guessed it sauce and they found that of all the sauces that exist. People right here in the tri state search for pasta sauce more than any other. So keep that in mind. Next time you're looking to whip up a recipe google may be judging you. I'm kidding maybe. Well that ladies and gents with today's, did you know? And if that one didn't get your mouth watering this next story out of Brooklyn is sure to, the bagel fest is back and not only were the treats at the festival, fresh, warm and delicious. They're pretty creative too. And I don't know about you guys, but bread in any form is my weakness. So let's hop on in the best bagels in new york and some might even say in the world, all under one roof, bagel fest is a celebration of all things bagel. It is the biggest bagel celebration in the world. Sam Silverman founded bagel fest five years ago, I was going to a bunch of food festivals around the city and I thought to myself, I need to go to the next bagel festival. I looked it up and found out it had never been done in the history of new york, which seems totally crazy to me. The bagel is an iconic new york food. More than 50 bagel makers from around the city and beyond are here to show off their most delicious creations. So we've got a chili crunch butter with trout roe on our sesame bagels and these vendors are living proof that bagels can be turned into almost anything when we do the beer, there's like a big tank that we put them in and then we start to wrap the beer over it. So it just takes time to get all those flavors, even bacon, egg and cheese, ice cream, pureed the egg bagels into the ice cream and then there's swirls of cream cheese and candied bacon before leaving, visitors can cast a vote for their favorite bagel and the winning vendor gets to take home the people's choice award, but who gets to claim the title of best bagel in new york? Well that's in the hands of the official bagel experts. What makes you a good expert? So I think that growing up in Brooklyn gives me a bit of an edge. First they have to be slightly chewy with a medium size too tight crumb, they should be shiny because that shows that they've been boiled first, which is a very important step. And I know we only cover good news here, but I have to tell you that this year's bagel fest has unfortunately come to an end. Now, just like mom and dad taught you, you'll want to wait 20 to 30 minutes to let your bagel digest before jumping into this next story out of Long island. This baby is all about hopping the world's largest bounce house is back in Hicksville, the beast stands at a whopping 32 ft tall and covers an area of 16,000 square feet and get this, it's actually been certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the law largest bounce house in the entire world and now I don't care how old you are jumping in the bounce house, never gets old. It's amazing when you see them walk up and they just see this massive inflatable bounce house, their eyes just light up. How may I help you step into the world of sports agent Prez palmer of Stratford and you will meet a man to whom the word courtesy has very special meaning, courtesy paved the pathway and because I latched onto that, that allowed me to get opportunities that other people did not get in their careers. The U. S. Army combat vet was headquarters, company commander for the battalion, responsible for training special forces for operation, enduring freedom during the global war on terrorism following 9 11 and he says the simple concept of courtesy he learned at that time ended up opening every door for him along the way. Welcome back to on a positive note, I'm your host, Jordan Kasane back with even more great news from around the tri state because yes, it does exist and I just know you won't be able to get the smile off of your face during this story where over 100 adults with disabilities are stepping up to the plate to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their baseball league. And let me tell you they're going all out for this major milestone. Let's take a look way to go. Elizabeth was so pumped for tonight. She and about 100 and 50 adults with disabilities from Rockland County competed in these games to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their league. It's called touching bases of Rockland county Elizabeth and her sister Kathleen have been playing in this league for 13 years. Lay out like last week's game, I kept my foot on the bag and it was a no brainer for me to do. This league founder Bob Baer tells me he started this league for people who were aging out of little leagues for Children with disabilities. He thought it would draw a few young adults. Two decades later there are 150 players. The average age is 50 here we always say, the main thing is going to be safe. The second thing is that would be fun and if baseball happens, that's the icing on the cake, you know, and the truth is a lot of baseball happens and it's really, it's pretty hard warning. Sometimes Jermaine Blount says, this is perfect for sports lovers like him. Did you play a little bit too? When I was in kindergarten during high school and I'm in a bit, I mean it's lead now. I love playing for this team. So the average age of players on the team is 50 and some are even well into their eighties. We're told that the program is as spectacular as it is today. Thanks in large part to the help of many sponsors and volunteers while we're staying very on brand with the sports stories here. So lace up your sneaks and run on over to the Bronx with me now where an Olympian along with the rising new york city runners are teaming up to provide some tiny Bronx sites with some new kicks. There's no better feeling than lacing up a new pair of shoes and that's exactly what around 200 students at M. S. To 44 got to experience this morning. Eighth grader Dari L is on the track team and says he's ready to go. We do events like the 400 you know, we run miles and stuff like that. It's really fun. New balance sneakers were given out To kick off the new school year in style and encourage kids to stay active while having some fun. Rising New York Road runners helps out over 100,000 students nationwide and has donated more than 37,000 pairs of shoes to kids in need of these moments are key sometimes in any person's life and don't get really cool today. Hopefully this will be something special for them. As soon as these middle school runners swapped their old shoes for new Olympian, Beverly ramos, made sure they put them to the test. Their principal said it was a great way to start the school year, not just a giveaway, but really to focus on healthy living fitness and really taking care of who you are. Well, you know what that means? It's time for a feel good fact. Now let's talk veggies. Are there some vegetables that make you go and others that you just can't get enough of? Well for me, I love broccoli but tomatoes. A study published in the Journal of Psychological Science laid out an experiment where scientists gave moms who were at least eight months pregnant, either a carrot flavored pill, a kale flavored pill or a plain pill. And it turns out that the babies who tasted the carrot flavor could actually be seen almost laughing on their four D ultrasounds were the ones who tasted the kale were actually frowning. So to all those mamas out there hoping to make their babies smile, grab yourself a carrot and that was your feel good fact. Alright y'all. Now, this is a feel good story. A proposal is underway over in the Bronx, check it out. 31 year old scott. Davis proposed to his girlfriend, 29 year old lori scarpa on the field of Yankee Stadium during a soccer game. The couple are season ticket holders of NY CFC and they have been dating about four years before scott popped the question. We're both huge fans of NY CFC and we saw them win the MLS Cup in Portland and I just thought it would be a special proposal idea. Oh my gosh! I had zero idea whatsoever. I truly don't know how I put this up. I have no idea. So happy. She said Yes. In front of all those people, I love you. Am I the only one whose eyes are watering. That was amazing. Well, congratulations to Laurie and scott. And you know what pairs great with a proposal and a sporting event and ice cold brew and be real, depending on who's playing a beer and a hot dog can sometimes be the best part of the game. We'll get this Nathan's famous coney Island brewing company has just launched their new collaboration Nathan says the beer pairs perfectly with their famous footlongs and they're actually the third business that the brewery has collaborated with since the pandemic, The new brew is part of their heart of coney Island series and it may not taste exactly like you might think at first we were thinking of getting weird and trying to brew a beer with actually hot dogs in it, but why ruin two great things.
