Waste Connections of New York held its seventh annual bike build as a way to give back to the community.
Organizations including Castle Hill Little League Baseball and the NYPD came together to assemble over 100 bikes ahead of the holiday season.
Employees at Waste Connections told News 12 that they fundraise to help buy the bikes and then give them out to local charities.
The bikes are donated to schools, churches and precincts. Anthony Hosri, assistant district manager, says this event serves more than just one purpose.
"It’s good team building for us and a way to give back to the community we service and appreciate," he said.
Waste Connections say they hold events like this one nationwide and hope it encourages other to give back during the holiday season.
