Parents in the Bronx had mostly positive things to say about the mayor's decision to close schools during the past storm.
Parents outside P.S. 106 in Parkchester Thursday morning say they believe the mayor made the right choice.
Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Tuesday afternoon ahead of the storm that schools would be closed Wednesday.
Although parts of the city did not receive as much snow as foretasted, 7 inches of snow fell in the Bronx.
Other parts of the city got upward to 13 inches.
Nearly 20 inches of snow has been recorded on eastern Long Island.
Crystal Cupertino says she agrees with the decision to close school yesterday.
"According to what was going on with this storm and the way it was forecasted on the news and also the fact that the city didn't cancel school during the last storm—it's better safe than sorry," she says.
Miss J says she also agrees with the mayor's choice.
"I think it was a good day to keep the kids home, and keep them safe. We would have probably had to pick them up early had there been school anyway," J says.
Officials say Wednesdays school closure marks the second school closure of the year for New York City.
