State police say a Pine Bush man is recovering from serious injuries after an explosion and fire at a business in Wawayanda.
The incident happened shortly before noon at Boyce Excavating on Route 6 on Tuesday, state police say.
Authorities say the 30-year-old victim, who has not been named, was welding on the flatbed of a truck when it exploded and became fully engulfed in flames.
Slate Hill Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire, according to police. News 12 reached out to the fire department for additional information but has not received a response.
State police say the victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
A person at Boyce Excavating said on Thursday that the company has no comment.
