Police say a 16-year-old boy was slashed on the left backside of the head in Melrose.

The incident happened at 2 a.m. inside of a 2 train cart. The NYPD says the teen got into an argument with a man before the slashing.

Transit crime is up in the Bronx by almost 15%, with 218 incidents happening to date. Thirty-one of those incidents happening within the last month.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are looking for a man who was last seen wearing a black hoodie with sweat pants and red and black sneakers.
