Police: 41-year-old found fatally shot in front of Bed-Stuy building

Detectives are investigating a homicide in Bed-Stuy as shootings in New York City continue to climb.

Detectives are investigating a homicide in Bed-Stuy as shootings in New York City continue to climb.
The victim, 41-year-old Derrick Garner, was found shot multiple times in the arm and torso, according to police.
Garner was found right in front of a building on Bainbridge Street near Lewis Avenue where police have placed yellow tape.
News 12 is told officers responded to a 911 call to the location Monday just after 10:30 p.m. and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds on his arm and torso.
First responders rushed him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County where he died.
According to official, Garner lived in East New York, about 15 minutes from where he was found.
What he was doing in this area, is what detectives are piecing together.
At this time the homicide remains an ongoing investigation as investigators continue to narrow down the gunman.
