Police say they discovered around 60 students inside an alleged illegally-run yeshiva in Bed-Stuy. 

Police say they received a 311 call to 841 Madison St. of classes in session. There were no signs that listed the building as a school, but on Google Maps the building is listed as “Nitra Yeshiva.” 

Schools were directed to remain closed amid the coronavirus pandemic, and that also included private schools. 

Police say when they got to the building, around 60 students were inside, violating social distancing orders. 

A police spokesperson saying,” Officers instructed the male operating the school to close. The male complied with the officer’s directions and the students left the location. No enforcement action was taken.”
