A car chase in the Bronx landed law enforcement vehicles into the middle of a Little League game, sending kids and parents scrambling.
The unmarked law enforcement vehicles ran past a gate and onto the baseball field at Claremont Park Wednesday during a practice around 7:20 p.m.
Parents say a man being chased ran by second base as the law enforcement vehicles caught up to him.
They say there were about 35 kids on the field at the time.
Marcos Castro, the coach of the Pampers team of 4- to 6-year-olds, said he just tried to grab as many kids as he could to safety.
The Drug Enforcement Agency confirmed to News 12 that they arrested the man they were chasing. They say two other men were arrested and three guns were seized during the operation.
A DEA spokesperson said, "The DEA is focused on keeping our community safe from all crime, drug trafficking and drug-related violence. While we understand parents' concern, we hope they reconsider and understand that our actions were to remove the immediate threat of gun violence.”
