A Bronx mother is in the hospital after police say she was attacked by her child's baby sitter.
The incident took place Monday afternoon at the Edenwald Houses, where a 27-year-old mother was stabbed four times in the torso, according to police. They say the attacker was her child's caregiver, Miriahm Paloma, 27.
Paloma is charged with criminal possession of a weapon, assault, endangerment of a child and menacing.
A friend of the victim says she heard the incident happen from her next-door apartment.
"I banged on the door, but they didn't want to open the door. My son's best friend tried to kick the door and we were going to go in, but then at the same time, she yelled, 'do not come in, she has a knife,'" says the woman who asked to withhold her name.
Police say the victim is expected to be OK.
