At least three people, including two officers, were injured during a traffic stop in Williamsburg on Saturday.

Police responded to a 911 call for shots fired at the corner of Broadway and Lorimore Street just before 4 a.m. When they arrived, they saw three cars speed away. 

Police told News 12 they found the same cars about 30 minutes later at Morgan and Vandervoort Avenues. They say it appeared there was an accident, so they approached the vehicles. 

The NYPD says two officers spoke to the driver of a white Honda CRV when an officer told the driver to turn the engine off. Instead, the driver stepped on the gas and struck an officer who was standing in front of the car. The officer then took out their gun and started shooting at the car as it drove off. 

Officials say at least one of those bullets hit someone in the car because a few hours later, a 21-year-old man showed up at hospital with an injury to the torso. 

Police say they believe the man was the driver. The man and two officers who were injured are expected to be OK. 

Police investigated a dark Accura at the scene, which they say was one of three cars involved. Officers are still looking for a dark BMW and the 2018 white Honda CRV, which has the license plate KRW-2924. 

Police say it’s unclear how many people were in the cars at the time of the incident.
