Police: Duo robbed, beat man on Morris Avenue
A Bronx woman is demanding justice for her 51-year-old father, who was beaten and robbed in broad daylight.
Police released new surveillance video which shows the two suspects walking into the vestibule of 2396 Morris Ave. on April 4 around 12:30 p.m.
Officials say the duo waited for the victim to open the front door and then proceeded to follow him into the lobby, where they threw him to the ground and began punching and kicking him.
Police say the suspects stole the man's gym bag and wallet. The victim's daughter tells News 12 the suspects were quite familiar with her father. She, along with police, believe they had been scoping out her dad's daily routine.
The first suspect is described as a 25-year-old man who stands at 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. He has a dark complexion, black hair and a beard. Officials say he was last seen wearing a black Mercedes-Benz baseball hat, a black, hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants.
Police say the second suspect is a 25-year-old man, also 5 feet 10 inches tall, 180 pounds with a light complexion and a close-cut haircut. They say he was last seen wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants.
News 12 is told the victim sustained injuries to his face and was treated at St. Barnabas Hospital. Police are not releasing the victim's name and his daughter declined to publicly disclose her own name for safety reasons.
