Police say two EMS workers were lured by a fake 911 call and then were robbed at gunpoint in Brownsville.

Officials tell News 12 those EMS workers were robbed of their medical equipment, but that luckily neither of them was physically harmed.

Police say EMS was responding to a 911 call around 11 p.m. on Monday night for a medical emergency – and someone placed a bogus emergency call to 365 Sackman St. in the Seth Low Houses, according to the fire department .

As those EMS workers were rushing there to help, officials say a man robbed them of their equipment, medical bags and radios.

“They responded to a made up 911 call, entered the premises, and were held at gunpoint for their drug bag. They were robbed. They took their radio, their operating system that they carry there with them. You know, it's not an easy job anymore,” said FDNY EMS Local 2507 President Oren Barzilay.
