Police are searching for multiple suspects connected to an assault that took place on July 6 in Brooklyn.
According to police, on Tuesday, July 6 at 4:58 p.m. in the 47th Street and Fourth Avenue area, a 17-year-old was approached by a group of unidentified males. Sources say it may have stemmed from an argument on social media.
Police say one person struck the male victim with a crowbar. Another threw a glass bottle at the victim, and the other suspects punched and kicked the victim's head and body, according to authorities.
One of the males then fled on a scooter, and the others fled on foot.
A witness tells News 12 he called 911 after seeing the ordeal.
"They beat him up…he was on the floor bleeding. I called the cops for help because a lot of people were yelling, ‘Call the cops, call the cops,’” says the witness.
The victim suffered cuts and bruises to his face and body, and was transported to NYU Langone Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
