A Bronx priest found a hate-filled letter in his church's collection basket after Mass Sunday, police say.
Police have launched an investigation into the letter found at St. Barnabas Church in Woodlawn, near the border with Yonkers.
A line in the letter reportedly references a line from the Gospel of John, chapter 16, verse 2, which references misguided killings in the name of God.
The letter was signed, "Muhammad."
When approached by News 12, the priest declined to comment.
Both the NYPD and Yonkers police are meeting to determine who will lead the investigation.
