Authorities say the man accused of shooting his wife on Christmas morning is now in police custody.
They say 37-year old Rafael Herrera was found in Maryland.
Herrera allegedly shot 27-year-old Yadira Saavedra Perea in the arm and neck.
As News 12 reported, the shooting happened at their home on the corner of East 220th Street and Paulding Avenue.
The couple's two children were home at the time, but were not injured.
The victim is expected to be OK.
