Officers arrested a man charged with attempted murder and rape following an assault in East Harlem.
Police say 38-year-old Frankie Harris, of Brooklyn, is accused of attacking a 64-year-old woman on East 111th Street Monday night.
News 12 is told Harris is accused of putting the woman in a choke hold, throwing her to the ground and exposing himself before taking off. Officials say the woman was left brain dead due to the attack.
Police offered a reward for up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest of the person responsible.
Police Commissioner Dermot Shea commented on the arrest and commended the 23rd Precinct with a tweet.
