Federal investigators say the stabbing of a teen on the Bronx River Parkway last week is the work of the violent Trinitarios gang -- which may also be tied to the brutal slaying of another teen last week.
Graphic cellphone video shows a large group of men and young teens surrounding and stabbing a 14-year-old boy during the evening rush on June 18.
Police say the victim was swimming in the Bronx River with friends when a fight broke out with another group.
The boy fled onto the parkway during rush hour, but his assailants followed and stabbed him more than a dozen times as cars drove past.
The teen remains hospitalized in critical condition. He has wounds to his lungs and kidney.
Federal prosecutors say the fight began after the victim's girlfriend became involved in a dispute with a female gang member.
One suspect has been arrested so far.
Police say 21-year-old Ramon Paulino is facing state and federal charges that include attempted murder and gang assault.
Police say he appears in the video clubbing the victim with a broken branch.
They are still looking for other suspects and are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
