Police say a retired police officer was killed in a shooting in Kensington Monday night and another person was injured.

They say the retired officer and the other injured man, a retired corrections officer, came to the aid of an 86-year-old man.

A dispute then broke out with a 33-year-old man down the block. Police say one person pulled out a weapon and shot the two men.

Police say one person is in custody. It is unknown if they are searching for another suspect.
